TN layout: Farmers market

My latest featured layout is a traveler's notebook spread (2 pages) that features photos from a local farmers market.  This TN insert is all about a history and photo walk I took with a friend last summer; some of the gorgeous photos are featured here.  I couldn't take my eyes off of the amazing colors around the market, so I *may* have gone a little crazy when it comes to how many photos I took there.  I wanted to make sure that the background brought out the bright colors, so I chose to use a few pieces of lively yellow paper to go behind the photos.  I also followed the format I've been using by including a cork number to indicate the stop # on the tour we did.   Because I so loved this market, I included a shiny heart sticker from a kit I had that was made by Kelly Purkey. 

As I had a large blank space at the top of the right-hand page, I needed to fill it with something.  I chose a phrase label that I had in my stash, and placed two puffy heart stickers on either side.  I also added a phrase label on the left-hand side of the layout.  I chose not to do any journaling here, as I know I'll be adding it to subsequent layouts that I do of the market.  If you'd like to see the full process video for this layout, it is embedded below.

Back from NYC

I am back from NYC and so inspired to get my photos into an album!  I know I won't be able to get to the actual scrapping for it anytime soon, but that doesn't mean that I didn't do some prep work for it.  One of the things I like to do when I get back from a trip is to pull everything together that I think I will use.  This helps me to keep all of my memorabilia together and organized; when I'm ready to work on those photos, I'll be able to grab everything I need all at once, which is awesome. Here's a video I posted about how I choose my items to match my photos, as well as how I organize my receipts, brochures, and any other random items that I pick up during a trip.  As I work through my actual layouts later, I will take photos and post about my experiences while I was actually in NYC.

Leaving 2017 behind

Tonight is New Year's Eve, and I have to say that I'm happy to see 2017 go.  There were some very good things that happened (including a great trip overseas), but there was also a lot of stress surrounding my jobs.  I am hoping that changes in 2018; I know that part of it rests on me in that I have to say "no" more than I have in the past year. Going into 2018, I'm looking forward to another big trip to Europe, which will likely include Germany, Austria, and the Czech Republic.  I'll be traveling with a friend, and while we may do many activities together, I'm sure there will also be times when I'm on my own, which suits me just fine.  I'm still very much in the process of doing a bunch of research on different airports and locations, but I'm excited to take this next journey. 100 Days Project: Days 13-18

13)  I worked on a layout from a trip to Universal in Florida last year.  I had really looked forward to working on the photos of our hotel, as it had a very retro style.  I found several papers and embellishments that had a similar style, so busting those out was very fun! 14)  I came home from a weekend away to find a new set-up on my craft desk.  It includes an adjustable lamp arm and a special clamp that holds my iPad for recording videos straight down at my desk.  I tried it out pretty much right away; I'm pleased to say that I think it'll work well for me. 15)  I posted a video on my YouTube channel.  It was a flip-thru of my Seattle trip album from earlier this year.  I did that album as a 6x8 pocket page album; I didn't want to do a full 12x12 album since I had been to Seattle before and did/saw a lot of the same things.  In any case, the video equipment worked just the way I wanted it to, so I was pleased! 16)  I di...
