I'm finally made it to my closing post about my experience with the 100 Days Project.  Whew!  I'm covering days 96-100 here; I'm actually sad that it's ended.  I have found that I feel far more creative now than before I started the challenge.  I know many people who didn't make it all the way through, but I wholeheartedly took on my goal and achieved it.  My hope is that by completing those 100 days of doing something creative, the pattern will continue.  I don't want to give up my crafty time each day!  With that said, here's a recap of the last few days. 96)  I completed opening pages for my Family and Friend Adventures albums for 2016.  Yay! 97)  I posted a process video for a traveler's notebook layout.  This one used some cool embellishments that I've had lying around for a while.  You can see it below. 98)  I did a blog post.  Nothing too earth shattering, but I got it done. 99)  I posted an unb...

100 Days Project Update - Days 91 - 95

Image
While the 100 Days Project has ended, I'm still catching up on posting about it.  Today I'm covering days 91 - 95. 91)  This was a busy day, so I didn't have much time to spare for crafty stuff.  I decided to download and edit photos I took recently at an orchestra performance. 92)  My Citrus Twist order arrived today.  I bought the Jameson kit (from January 2017) again, plus an extra stamp set.  When I had a monthly subscription with them, I received the Jameson kit, but I used almost all of it, so I decided to order it again.  So love it!  I even did an unboxing/review of it to encourage people to pick it up when it was on sale ($18, originally $36). 93)  For this day, I posted another process video using my photos from Edinburgh.  This one was still 6"x8" pocket pages, but it features photos that had a red and gold focus.  I really had to think about what I could use that would match with them, also because I had a rece...

100 Days Project Update: Days 85 - 90

Image
Here's another update as I near the end of the 100 Days Project.  I am still so pleased that I decided to take on this challenge, as it has helped me to accomplish a lot of crafty stuff, and it has made me feel more creative in general. 85)  I am sooooooo behind on watching the videos I subscribe to on YouTube.  I decided to spend some time watching videos from Inkie Quill because those tend to be my favorites. 86)  I posted a process video featuring more 6"x8" pocket pages with MORE photos from Edinburgh.  Yes, still working on those photos. These photos were the last from the Scott Memorial and them moving away from Princes Street Gardens. 87)  It was a friend's birthday on this day; she's a crafty girl, too, so we decided to make a trip to a huge craft store that's about an hour away from where we live.  We took our time shopping in the store, and then we had lunch downtown in that city before we headed back home. 88)  I've been purc...

Another update on the 100 Days Project: Days 79-84

Image
As I write this, there are only 10 ten days left of the 100 Days Project. Wow!  At the start, I wondered if I'd be able to make it the whole way; now there is no way I will allow myself not to finish the challenge. 79)  I wrote a post for this very blog.  Yes, that still counts, as it is definitely something related to being crafty/scrapbooking. 80)  In my previous post about the 100 Days Project, I wrote about being asked to do a collaboration video with Elle Wood.  We did complete our takes on the inspiration layout we selected, which was a traveler's notebook insert layout.  We posted our videos this day.  You can see mine below (and hers is linked in the description area). 81)  I took time away from work and everything else to do a photo walk at my local conservatory; I also went into the Japanese Garden.  I took a bunch of photos, of course.  It felt so good to be out of the house enjoying the gorgeous autumn weather....

100 Days Project udpate: Days 73 - 78

Image
Still going!  I feel like I'm on the home stretch now, as it's actually Day 86 today.  Since I run behind here due to needing some time before posting, I'm starting with Day 73. 73)  I made some collage prints and had them printed at CVS, as I needed them in a hurry.  I put several 3x4 photos onto 4x6 prints.  Worked like a charm! 74)  I spent time prepping layouts for a scrap day I was having over the weekend. 75)  This was scrap day!  I spent quite a bit of time chatting while I was scrapping.  However, I did still manage to get a good amount done.  76)  I watched more Inkie Quill videos because I have soooooo many to catch up on still. 77)  I was running a bit behind with posting a video on my channel.  I did get around to it on this day!  I did a layout in my traveler's notebook insert; it features some food photos. 78)  I had something super awesome happen on this day!  Another scrapp...

100 Days Project Progress: Days 67 - 72

I'm keepin' on keepin' on with the 100 Days Project.  Here's my recap from days 67 - 72. 67)  I posted a video on my YouTube channel that features a layout in a traveler's notebook insert.  I'm really enjoying playing with this size of layout since it's so different from the other sizes and styles I do. 68)  I hadn't touched my photos from Colorado since landing back in MN.  I took time this day to edit all of the photos and get them ordered.  I figured that since it would be a small batch, I could get them quickly into my 6x8 pocket page album for CO 2015-2017. 69)  I posted a video of my unboxing and review of my first kit from Wild Hare Kits.  I had mixed feelings about the kit I received.  If you haven't heard of this company and want a peek at what they do and what I got in my recent kit, you can watch the video below.  (As a side note, this is my most-watched video so far.) 70)  I was short on time this day, bu...

100 Days Project Progress: Days 61 - 66

Yep, I'm still chugging along with the 100 Days Project!  I haven't missed a day yet, and I fully plan to keep that going until the end.  We're currently on Day 72, but as I run behind with posting here, I'm actually talking about days 61-66. 61)  I went on a walking tour that was all about the houses where Prince grew up in Minneapolis.  On this day, I downloaded and edited all of the photos that I took while walking through his neighborhood. 62)  I put up a process video on my YouTube channel that featured a 6"x8" pocket page layout.  That layout featured, again, photos from Edinburgh.  It's taking me longer than I anticipated to work through those photos, so there will definitely be more layouts on the docket. 63)  I didn't make anything today, as I chose to spend my creative time getting inspired.  I watched quite a few YouTube videos on traveler's notebook insert layouts.  It really made me want to work on the TN inserts I ...

100 Days Project: Days 55-60

Since I am away from home right now for a work function, I can't write too much about current crafty stuff.  However, I've been taking photos so that I can document this trip, even though it's for work.  My choice of work is actually a big part of who I am, so I think it does deserve to be documented in some way.  Since that's all I've really had time for, I figured I'd do another update on my progress with the 100 Days Project. 55)  I took a trip to a big craft store about an hour away from my house, but I left my purchases on a table for a few days.  When I had some down time this day, I was able to actually sort through what I bought and put it all away in the proper places. 56)  For the past several years, I've done a "Friend Adventures" album to document fun times with my friends.  I've always done a traditional 12"x12" album, but I recently decided that I was going to do that 2017 album in a 6"x8" pocket page forma...

100 Days Project: Days 49 - 54

Image
Here's another update on my 100 Days Project progress.  We're a bit over halfway now! 49)  Once again, I found myself short on time.  So, what was something I could do fairly quickly?  Sort another photo order from Snapfish, of course!  However, it didn't go as fast as I thought it would, given that I had a bunch of 4x6 collages (2 3x4 photos on each) that required cutting. 50)  I realized on this day that my pile of embellishments on my desk were getting quite out of control.  I had puffy stickers, wood veneer pieces, flair badges, etc., and I had to organize them before I could even think about touching a layout. 51)  I posted a process video of a layout of Scotland photos.  This one features a 6x8 pocket page, with an insert, and photos from the architecture all around Edinburgh.  I'm very happy with how the layout turned out in the end. 52)  I worked on a birthday gift for my sister-in-law featuring some Harry Po...

100 Days Project: Days 44-48

Image
Here's my latest update on the 100 Days Project.  I'm still going strong! 44)  I posted another process video on my YouTube channel.  This one featured a one page 12x12 layout with photos from the Sponge Bob parade at Universal Studios.  We were there last summer, and as we used to be really big Sponge Bob fans, it fun to get to see the parade inside the park. 45)  I was away at a scrap retreat for several days, so I worked on quite a few layouts while I was there. 46)  More retreat layouts.   Photos are from The Lumineers in concert 47)  And more retreat layouts! Photos are from Cabana Bay/Universal Studios 48)  I did another video on my channel, but this one was a full flip-thru of an album I recently finished.  The album featured photos from my husband's trip to Ireland in 2016.  I did all of the design work, but he actually did all of his own journaling; I was very impressed.

100 Days Project Update: Days 38-43

Image
Here's another update on my progress with the 100 Days Project.  So far, I've been managing to keep up without too much extra effort, which is awesome! 38)  I spent some time printing cards from the Project Life app.  I have purchased quite a few kits since I first loaded the app, and since I don't do the digital version of PL, I print out cards I like right from my printer at home, then I use them on physical pages. 39)  I posted a video on my channel that was about my process for printing and organizing my photos.  I also included information on how I plan out an album, as well as how I prep layouts before I go to a scrap event or weekend crop. 40)  For my younger son's birthday, we visited a cat cafe.  I took a ton of photos! While this isn't really a huge thing, I'm still counting it as a creative endeavor since it involved some fun photography. 41)  I posted a process video on my channel.  This one featured a double page 12x12...

100 Days Project Update: Days 32 - 37

Image
I'm back today with another update on my progress with the 100 Days Project.  I have to say, I don't know that I've ever been as prolific as this, in terms of creative output.  I'm also loving the inclusion of something creative/crafty into every day, even if it is only for 10 minutes; it makes me feel happier as I go about my day. 32)  I did a blog post here about some of the research I've done for visiting Amsterdam.  I can't believe how quickly that trip is approaching! 33)  I have been slowly working my way through my photos from Edinburgh and Glasgow.  I had printed some of them already in 4x6, originally thinking that I would be doing traditional 12x12 page layouts.  However, since I decided to switch my plan and go with 6x8 pocket pages, I had to rethink my photos.  On this day, I made it all the way through my Glasgow photos, making many of them 3x4 in order to fit two into a 4x6 photo collage (via the Project Life app ). 34)  ...

100 Days Project Update: Days 26 - 31

Image
I made it through the first month of the 100 Days Project!  (You can't see it, but I'm doing a really lame dance in my chair right now.)  So far, I have found it to be invigorating to work on something creative every day, whether that is a blog post here, a video on my YouTube channel, or actually putting something together when I'm at my craft desk.  Here's a recap of days 26-31. 26)  I did a layout in a traveler's notebook insert.  I am really enjoying this new size and style for crafty projects! 27)  I prepped multiple layouts for an upcoming scrap retreat.  I believe in prepping because it helps me to get more done once I'm there; if I don't have things somewhat planned, I just sit there and become overwhelmed by a blank page and too much stuff around me.  Prepping helps me to pare down what I'm bringing along with me, as well as to already have a design built for each layout. 28)  I recorded a video for my YouTube channel.  T...

100 Days Project Update: Days 19-25

Image
Here is an update on my progress with the 100 Days Project.  So far, it has been fairly easy to keep up with doing something crafty every day.  I know some things will change once school gets going again for my kids, but I am committed to meeting my goal. 19)  My scrap space needed a good cleaning!  I was hosting 4 of my scrappy friends the next day, so I really had no choice but to straighten up everything and get as organized as possible.  I also had to figure out how to get 2 card tables and 1 larger table (that seats 2) into my family room in a configuration that would allow us all to be able to talk to each other easily, as well as see/hear the tv if we wanted to watch videos/episodes/movies in the background. My somewhat organized craft table 20)  I hosted my scrappy friends from 8:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m.  We had a blast just relaxing and crafting.  I didn't get as much done as I thought I would, but it's an okay thing because I rea...

100 Days Project: Days 13-18

Image
13)  I worked on a layout from a trip to Universal in Florida last year.  I had really looked forward to working on the photos of our hotel, as it had a very retro style.  I found several papers and embellishments that had a similar style, so busting those out was very fun! 14)  I came home from a weekend away to find a new set-up on my craft desk.  It includes an adjustable lamp arm and a special clamp that holds my iPad for recording videos straight down at my desk.  I tried it out pretty much right away; I'm pleased to say that I think it'll work well for me. 15)  I posted a video on my YouTube channel.  It was a flip-thru of my Seattle trip album from earlier this year.  I did that album as a 6x8 pocket page album; I didn't want to do a full 12x12 album since I had been to Seattle before and did/saw a lot of the same things.  In any case, the video equipment worked just the way I wanted it to, so I was pleased! 16)  I di...

100 Days Project: Days 6-12

Image
Today I'm talking more about the 100 days project.  I'm reviewing days 6-12 in this post; keep in mind that my overall goal was pretty vague: do something scrappy or scrap-related every day.  Given that personal challenge, here is a quick recap. 6.  I wrote a post for this very blog. Pretty simple! 7.  I accomplished two things this day!  The blog post I wrote the day before was edited and  published successfully.  Additionally, I did more research on getting a better set up for recording videos on my YouTube channel. 8.  I used my new Luna Lovegood stamp to do make this 5x7 item that will be framed in my craft space. 9.  I completed the first lesson in Tiffany Lowder's "1 Trip, 3 Ways" scrapbooking class.  It focuses on scrapping a trip in three different formats, which allows different methods for telling different kinds of stories.  Woo hoo! 10.  I spent a good deal of time prepping travel pages to bring to the ...

100 Days Project

Image
Have you heard of the 100 Days Project?  If not, you should look into it.  Basically, it means that you commit to doing something for 100 days in a row.  That something can be whatever you want!  Right now, it is quite popular in the crafty world; I follow several Facebook crafty groups that have people participating in it (we started August 1st).  I didn't do it on the last go-round because I wasn't sure I could stick with it, but I decided to take the plunge this time.  I purposely kept my goal vague: Just do something crafty related every day for the 100 days.  As I write this, I've made it through 5 days.  Here's my list of what I've done: 1.  Made the first pocket page for the 2016 Ireland travel album (this was a trip my husband took): 2.  I made a map page for the Ring of Kerry, which will go in the same travel album: 3.  I participated in an online live scrap group via Skype!  This was the first time I've e...
