Best of intentions

Image
General travel supplies #1 I sat down at my craft table with the intention to actually create a layout, but that wasn't what happened.  Everything was in such disarray around me (and directly on my table) that I had to do some sorting and organizing first.  Since I recently decided that I'll do my Scotland and Iceland photos in a 6"x8" pocket page album, I made it my organizational focus to sort through the items that might work for that trip.  I've included some photos that show how I grouped my items.  I'm hoping that having them separated like this will help me find what I need when I'm actually scrapping. General supplies #2 General supplies #3 Pocket cards #1 Pocket cards #2 So far, I've only done one complete layout with my Scotland photos.  I finished it last week when I did a stash challenge; I wanted to see how much I could use of a specific set of items when I worked with a set of photos from Glasgow.  If you're inte

Booking Flights - Part 1

In order to scrap photos from an awesome trip, you first have to get there, right?  Today I'm going to talk about booking flights.  I want to say up front that I am not a travel agent, so the info I'm passing along here is totally from my own trial and error and things I've read/researched over the years. 1.  Managing your research time :  Nobody wants to spend hours and hours looking for flight options on 10 different airlines.  So, I highly suggest using a fare alert tool.  There are quite a few out there, but my favorite is Airfarewatchdog .  It allows you to search for flights right now, but it also gives you the option to set up fare alerts for certain cities/destinations.  I love this feature, as I can just put in several options, save them, and forget about it!  I don't have to really think about it again (unless I want to) until I get the email alerting me that there's a price of interest on the cities I indicated.  Be aware, though, that you can only

Travel scrap supplies - Pretty Little Studio

I just received my most recent order from Pretty Little Studio , and I cannot wait to start using this stuff!  They even threw in a few little freebies that were mostly travel-themed, so I felt like I really did get a bonus with my order.  You can see from the photo below that there are geotag stickers, two sets of pocket page cards, travel phrase stickers, cut-out phrases, and even some awesome geotag (with a heart!) paper.  Can I just skip work and scrap a few days straight with all of these goodies?! I currently have photos, for multiple trips, ready to be scrapped; I'm not sure exactly how and where I'll use all of these items, but I will find a way to include them.  Travel scrapping is my absolute fave thing to work on, so it won't be a hardship for me to dive into these goodies.  I definitely think that some of the pocket page cards will work with photos from my most recent trip to Europe.  I'm itching to do more layouts soon! Welcome!

Welcome to my new blog!  I've decided to focus on my travels and how I document them.  I'll be talking about how I research destinations, pack, find flights and places to stay, decide what to do/see, plus what I do with all of the stories, photos, and other stuff once I'm home again. So, if you're looking for that kind of thing, you've come to the right place. I'm going to the TBEX conference in Ireland later this year so that I can specifically learn more about connecting my travel experiences to my crafty projects.  I'm hoping that I'll get some inspiration about taking better travel photos, telling stories in an engaging way, and preserving my travel memories for years to come. Please note that I've also started other new accounts to tie into this blog.   YouTube:  Scrappy Tracy Twitter:  ScrappyTracy     Instagram:  scrappytracy
